Why You Need to Have a Lead Magnet

Are you looking for new ways to find clients?  Are you trying to build your email list?  Are you thinking of making a course, but want to make sure people are interested?  It’s time for you to make a lead magnet.

Freebies, also called Lead Magnets, are an ideal way to convert potential clients into paying clients.

So what exactly is a lead magnet?

A lead magnet is a free offering provided in exchange for an email address.  It is used to grow your email list, test out new products or services, and encourage clients to buy those services.  They are a call to action in the form of free content.

Free offerings give value and enough content to excite a client. Think of them as teasers to grab someone’s attention. Your offering tells the client why they need you, and how much more value you can give them if they buy your product.

If a client is on the fence about hiring you, this is your opportunity to prove why you’re worth every penny.

Clients sign up for your lead magnet via an opt-in form or opt-in page. These forms contain a call to action: to download the lead magnet.

In order to receive the freebie, clients provide their email address.

You then send them an email where they can download the content.

This is a perfect way to build your email list!  Now that you have begun a conversation, continue to send them emails or newsletters to keep them involved and interested in your services.

Lead magnets can take different forms depending on what best fits your business.  If you’re a social media manager, you can create a checklist for an Instagram audit.  If you’re a coach, you can create a free challenge to boost confidence.  The possibilities are endless!
